Worship, Media, and Ministry Leadership

Scott Bear

Scott Bear was born in Bay City, Texas, and raised in Thicket, where he developed a love for music at an early age. He spent his youth singing, playing bass and drums with his family’s band, and later traveled across the eastern U.S. with a touring group. After high school, he moved to Plant City, Florida, to serve in youth ministry and play on the worship team at his cousin’s church.

In 1989, Scott returned to Texas and joined Calvary Tabernacle Church under Pastor Billy Stanley, where he met his wife, Kim. Over the years, he led youth ministry for 13 years and played a key role in building and managing the church’s audio, visual, and streaming departments. He designed and installed multi-camera streaming systems, created the church website, and trained teams in media software, including Vmix, MediaShout, EasyWorship, and Microsoft Suite. As a church board member across multiple campuses, he helped shape ministry operations and technological advancements.

Today, Scott and Kim attend Abundant Life Church in Willis, Texas, under Pastor David Stovall. They serve on the worship team, co-lead the CORE Ministry for ages 20-40, and assist in various church functions.

They are proud parents of two daughters, two sons-in-law, and four amazing grandchildren—and they share their home with two spoiled Schnauzers.

Scott is passionate about equipping churches with the tools and systems they need to grow in worship, technology, and ministry leadership.
